Samsung Galaxy Weekly Updates Roundup (May 18-24)

Another Sunday, another weekly roundup. This week also focused on One UI 8.5, with Samsung expanding the stable rollout to older flagship and foldable Galaxy devices. The company also started bringing the update to midrange phones and tablets, while a few devices saw their rollout expand globally. Alongside that, Samsung dropped the May 2026 security update for many users across different markets, and last monthโs April 2026 patch continued reaching a few more models as well. One UI 8.5 expands, May 2026 patch reaches more devices
Samsung spent most of this week expanding the stable One UI 8.5 rollout. The update started reaching 2023 flagship and foldable models, including the S23 series, S23 FE and Z5 devices. Samsung also began the rollout for the midrange A series, starting with the Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36. Towards the end of the week, the Galaxy Tab S11 series and Galaxy Tab S10 FE series also joined the rollout, although the update is currently limited to Korea.

When it comes to security updates, Samsung also expanded the May 2026 patch to a long list of Galaxy devices after kicking things off last week. The rollout now covers many devices, ranging from top-tier flagships to budget models. The May 2026 patch fixes around 40 security vulnerabilities identified by Samsung, Google and other industry partners. Here are all the Galaxy devices that received the May 2026 patch this week:

Samsung also continued expanding last monthโs April 2026 security update this week. While the rollout started earlier, a few more Samsung models picked up the patch over the last several days. The April update fixes 47 security issues. The list is as follows.

To install the latest update on your Galaxy device, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the package finishes downloading, tap Install now to begin the installation.
Looking ahead to next week, Samsung is expected to continue expanding the One UI 8.5 rollout to more Galaxy A, S and tablet devices. More regions should also begin receiving the update for models that are currently limited to Korea.
