Samsung’s next foldable launch is just around the corner, and Qualcomm has started building anticipation in its own way. A senior Qualcomm executive has shared a teaser that appears to hint at the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8. The new wide foldable is expected to run the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 “for Galaxy” chipset globally.
Qualcomm’s teaser points to Samsung’s next foldables
The teaser posted on LinkedIn doesn’t mention any products by name, but it prominently features the silhouette of what looks to be Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8. In fact, the visuals leave little doubt about which device is in the spotlight. The post also confirms that the device will feature the “For Galaxy” variant of Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor.
This chip powers the Galaxy S26 Ultra globally, as well as the other two S26 models in the US and many other markets. Samsung is now gearing up to use it on its upcoming foldables. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra are likely to run the chip worldwide. The Galaxy Z Flip 8, meanwhile, may feature Qualcomm’s Exynos 2600 processor in some regions.
While Qualcomm is helping Samsung build hype around its upcoming foldables, the company itself has ramped up its efforts too. It recently posted a new teaser video similarly illustrating the wide-format Galaxy Z Fold 8. Samsung is positioning the device as a cheaper, productivity-focused alternative to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, its flagship foldable offering this year.
Samsung will officially announce its next foldable lineup during Galaxy Unpacked on July 22. Well, the company hasn’t confirmed the date, but it’s no longer a mystery after a myriad of leaks. Stick around for more leaks.
