Breaking! One UI 8.5 Stable Update Rolls Out for Galaxy S23 Family

Samsung is currently running two tracks, and both are performing well. On one hand, the company has rolled out the One UI 9 beta. On the other, it is pushing the One UI 8.5 stable update to eligible Galaxy devices. Speaking of the latter, the Galaxy S23 series has now received the big update.
All Galaxy S23 models pick up One UI 8.5
Samsung has now begun rolling out the One UI 8.5 stable update for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. The Galaxy S23 FE may join the pack soon. The update is currently rolling out in its home turf, South Korea. As Samsung pushes these updates gradually, it should reach other regions in the coming days.
The build version for the Galaxy S23 One UI 8.5 stable update is FZDT. If you have a Galaxy S23 device and live in Korea, you can go ahead and install the latest stable update. To do so, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the update file is downloaded, tap Install now.
The Galaxy S23 lineup follows the S24 and S25 models in Samsung’s One UI 8.5 update party (One UI 8.5 is available out of the box on the Galaxy S26). Samsung has also rolled out the update for its 2025 and 2024 foldables. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, which launched in 2023, should get it soon.
Additionally, Samsung is expected to expand One UI 8.5 to mid-range devices in the coming days. The likes of the Galaxy A56, A36, A55, and A35 should lead the line for the mid-range pack. The company may complete the One UI 8.5 rollout by July this year and then shift the focus to One UI 9, which is currently available in beta for the Galaxy S26 series.
