Samsung is currently focused on the One UI 8.5 beta rollout. However, we are already seeing early signs of the next major update, One UI 9. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 has now appeared on Geekbench, running the new version, which is based on Android 17. This confirms that Samsung has started internal work on the update.

Geekbench listing confirms early One UI 9 testing for Galaxy Z Flip 7

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 has made its first appearance with One UI 9 on Geekbench. The model spotted is the US-locked variant (SM-F766U). This suggests that Samsung has begun internal testing for the device. The listed model carries the build number F766USQU9CZDF, which looks genuine. Nonetheless, such listings should still be taken with some caution.

In terms of performance, the device scored 2275 in single-core and 7843 in multi-core tests. These scores are in line with previous results and do not show any major performance jump.

The bigger Galaxy Z Fold 7 has already appeared with One UI 9 test builds on servers. However, it has not shown up on Geekbench yet. So far, the only Samsung devices spotted running Android 17-based One UI 9 on Geekbench are the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the upcoming Galaxy S26 FE.

Samsung is expected to officially debut One UI 9 alongside its next generation of foldables: the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and a Wide Fold model. This will likely happen in late July — on July 22, if leaks are accurate. After that, the company may begin a wider rollout to other eligible devices.

A One UI 9 beta program is also expected, possibly starting around June. However, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 may not be part of the beta release. More details should become clear as we move closer to the official launch.
