This Galaxy S26 Ultra Update May Fix Camera Issues

Samsung may have begun rolling out the long-awaited camera fixes for the Galaxy S26 series. The company has released a second April 2026 update for its latest flagships in South Korea, and it could bring meaningful improvements. The update is expected to expand to other regions soon.
Galaxy S26 Ultra’s second April update may contain camera fixes
Samsung recently rolled out a second update of the month for the Galaxy S26 lineup in select markets, including the US. The new firmware version carried the identifier “S,” which typically means security patches and minor optimizations. However, the company just dropped a new update for the phones in its home market, and it may contain something more.
For starters, the firmware build version for the latest release in Korea is AZDE, while it was AZDG or AZD4 in other markets. The “U” identifier also hints at a more meaningful update, potentially containing new features, functional improvements, or major bug fixes. The file size (over 750MB for the Galaxy S26 Ultra) supports that theory too, as regular security patches typically weigh around 500MB.
Unfortunately, the official changelog still doesn’t confirm if this update brings anything specific, so we can only guess. Maybe Samsung has bundled the camera fixes it promised recently. Many Galaxy S26 Ultra users, including me, have noticed issues with close-up shots with Focus Enhancer. Samsung said a fix would be available with “the next update”. It looks like this is the promised update.
Even if it isn’t, it’s always a good idea to install new updates. Samsung must be pushing something important; it doesn’t typically roll out two updates in a month. To check for updates, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. As always, updates are rolled out in phases, so it may take some time before it reaches all users globally.
