Samsung Will Fix Galaxy S26 Ultra 24MP Camera Bug in Next Update

A couple of weeks ago, we reported on a camera bug on the Galaxy S26 Ultra (review), affecting close-up shots. The bug caused the image to shift after capture when you have Focus Enhancer enabled — this basically means the viewfinder didn’t show the frame accurately. Samsung has now confirmed the issue, revealing that the issue exists only in the 24MP shooting mode. The company also promised a fix with the next update.

On Samsung Korea Community Forums, a moderator acknowledged this bug (via SammyFans). They also confirmed that a fix is coming in the next update, but how soon? That part is not clear yet, but we can expect the update to arrive in the coming days. Here is the response from the camera moderator (translated from Korean to English):
“We have confirmed that this issue occurs when waiting for several seconds or more before shooting in macro mode during 24MP 2x zoom shooting. A fix will be released in the next update. Please take note of this.”
Before the next update arrives, you may try some workarounds, which may solve half the issue. The problem mainly shows up in 24MP mode when you frame a shot and pause for a few seconds before taking it. To reduce the chances of glitches, try to capture the photo quickly after composing your shot instead of waiting.
Another simple option is to switch out of 24MP mode when shooting close-ups at 2x zoom. Using the default resolution or slightly adjusting your zoom level can bypass the bug entirely in most cases. It’s not a real fix, but it keeps your shots reliable until the upcoming software update arrives, which should properly address the issue.
