Galaxy S24 Series, Fold 6 and Flip 6 Get One UI 8.5 in the US

Earlier this week, Samsung released the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Flip 6 in South Korea. The update has now arrived in the US, kicking off a global rollout. All eligible users stateside should receive it over the next few days.

Samsung brings stable One UI 8.5 to its 2024 flagships in the US

The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are receiving the stable One UI 8.5 update in the US with the firmware build number S92*USQU5DZDR. Samsung’s Fan Edition model, the Galaxy S24 FE, is also getting the update, carrying firmware version S721USQUBDZDP. The new build numbers for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are F956USQU3DZDQ and F741USQU3DZDP, respectively. 

The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which is part of Samsung’s 2024 flagship lineup, has not yet received the stable One UI 8.5 update outside Korea. However, the wait may not be much longer. We will let you know when we have more information.

One important thing to note is that these updates are currently live only for carrier-locked units on select networks. However, Samsung should begin expanding the rollout to unlocked variants and more carriers very soon. If you own any of these Galaxy devices, you can check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the update is downloaded, tap Install now.

Looking ahead, Samsung is expected to expand the stable One UI 8.5 rollout to more regions in the coming days. More flagship and foldable Galaxy devices should receive the update soon. Later, midrange devices should get it as well. Based on Samsung’s previous rollout timelines, the company could complete the stable One UI 8.5 rollout by July. However, the final timeline will depend on how smoothly the rollout progresses.
