Your Instagram Experience Gets a Huge Boost in One UI 9

Samsung’s One UI 9 could be a big upgrade for social media creators. The new software will improve the Instagram experience with in-app features such as Ultra HDR, video stabilization, and night mode. In addition, it will keep your photos and videos sharp when you share them on Instagram.
Android 17 will bring big improvements to Instagram
Google recently announced that Android 17 will bring a more vibrant Instagram experience. The company has teamed up with Meta to bring the best of Instagram to advanced Android devices. Since One UI 9 is based on Android 17, Galaxy users will also benefit from the latest improvements.
According to Google, the new experience includes Ultra HDR capture and playback inside Instagram. This could make photos and videos look more vibrant, with richer colors and enhanced contrast. Android 17 will also bring built-in video stabilization, so you can record smoother videos while walking or moving. Thanks to Night Sight integration, you can experience better low-light shots.
Google also says it has optimized the capture-to-upload pipeline, allowing photos and videos to remain sharp after you hit the “post” button on Instagram. The company claims that recent tests using the Universal Video Quality (UVQ) model suggest that videos uploaded from Android flagship devices offer the same or even better results than the leading competitor (likely pointing to iPhone).
Furthermore, Instagram’s Edits app will get new updates, including Smart Enhance and Sound Separation. The former can instantly upscale the quality of photos and videos with a single tap. The latter separates out audio tracks to reduce unwanted background noise.
If you use a Samsung Galaxy Tab, you could get an improved experience while using Instagram. The company says the social media app is now fully optimized for Android tablets, allowing it to better use the large-screen space.
Samsung could debut the official version of One UI 9 alongside its next-generation foldables in July 2026. The software is currently in beta testing, with the latest Galaxy S26 series getting an early taste.
