Samsung may be getting closer to wrapping up its One UI 8.5 beta cycle. The Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra recently picked up what many expect to be the final beta release for the lineup. Now, the same firmware build is rolling out to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which gets its fourth beta update. The Flip 7 and other recent foldables may join the party soon.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 picks up a new One UI 8.5 Beta update

The new update carries firmware version ZZDD, which is the same build rolled out to the Galaxy S25 lineup. The changelog isn’t exactly the same, but, like the S25 trio, Samsung is pushing new Galaxy AI features and improvements to the Fold 7 as well. The device is getting Call Screening, which can automatically handle unknown callers, and Creative Studio, designed to simplify content creation and editing.

Additionally, existing features like Audio Eraser and Photo Assist are picking up improvements, offering better noise removal and more natural image edits. The OTA package weighs over 940MB for the European unit, with Samsung also addressing a bunch of bugs.

Overall, One UI 8.5 Beta 4 for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 focuses on polishing the experience while bringing major new features from the S26 series. It feels like a final round (or very close to it) of refinements before the official release. With most major bugs addressed and core features in place, One UI 8.5 appears ready for its stable debut.

In fact, Samsung may begin rolling out the stable version for the Galaxy S25 series as early as next week. The update could first arrive in South Korea and gradually expand to other markets. Hopefully, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 won’t be left too far behind. We will keep tabs on the ongoing developments and let you know as soon as we have more information.
