US Galaxy S26 Units Get Third April Update, Camera Fix Included

Samsung is expanding the rollout of its latest camera-focused update for the Galaxy S26 series, with US units now starting to receive it. The update first rolled out in South Korea last week and recently reached Europe, suggesting a broader global release is now underway.

Last month, Samsung released two software updates for the Galaxy S26 lineup in the US and Mexico. While the first one brought the latest monthly security patch (April 2026), the second update appeared to contain some region-specific patches and optimizations. Now, the company is here with the third April update for the new flagships stateside.

Well, we are already in May, but the latest release still doesn’t bring this month’s security patch. The Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra remain on last month’s SMR (Security Maintenance Release), essentially making it an April update. The good news is that this update brings an important camera fix.

Rolling out with firmware version AZDI, the new update for the Galaxy S26 lineup in the US addresses a bug affecting close-up shots. Many users, including me, noticed an issue where the viewfinder didn’t accurately preview the frame for close-up shots captured with Focus Enhancer. The final image didn’t match the preview.

While not persistent, this bug can be frustrating when your image doesn’t match what you saw on the screen. Thankfully, Samsung fixed the issue with a new update, which recently rolled out in Korea and Europe (where it comes as the second April release). It is now available for the carrier-locked units in the US as well. Unlocked Galaxy S26 units should also get the update soon. You can check for it from the Settings app.
