Samsung will take the wraps off three foldables this summer. A few details about these foldables have already leaked, and now comes one of the most interesting revelations. What the Galaxy Z Fold 8 “Wide” will actually be called has always been a mystery. Not anymore.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8, Flip 8 could be Samsung’s 2026 foldables lineup

According to a report from SamMobile, the 2026 foldables will launch as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8. So where did the Wide Fold go, and what’s the Ultra Fold? Well, what was believed to be the “Wide” model may actually launch as the standard Fold 8, while the Z Fold 8 Ultra will succeed the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

This shift defines how Samsung is positioning its foldables, with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra taking over as the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 appears to be a wider foldable, which many had assumed would carry a “Wide” moniker. Nothing changes for the Galaxy Z Flip 8.

Even with the Ultra branding, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra won’t include some key S Ultra features. As highlighted by Ice Universe, neither the privacy display feature nor the S Pen is coming. The crease also isn’t improving much, according to the same tipster.

Moreover, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 8 are expected to support up to 45W wired charging, while the Galaxy Z Flip 8 may only support 25W. For the first two, that’s an improvement, considering the previous generation topped out at 25W, but it still falls short of the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s rumored 60W charging.

There’s no FE

As you might have noticed, there’s also no FE model coming. If there were one, it would likely have already appeared in multiple places, including regulatory databases and update test servers. So far, there’s nothing, which clears up any confusion about how many foldables we’ll see in the coming weeks.

Previous reports suggest that all three foldables could launch in London. The next Unpacked event may take place on July 22, 2026. Naturally, we’ll also see the next generation of Galaxy Watches, and probably a few surprises too. If you plan on picking up either of these, make sure you sign up for our mystery box.
