Samsung May Bring Carbon Standing Case to Galaxy Z Fold 8 Series

Samsung appears to be preparing a premium accessory for its next-gen book-style foldable smartphones. The company could launch the Carbon Standing Case for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra. This accessory is currently available exclusively for the Galaxy Z TriFold.

Trademark filing hints at Carbon Standing Case for Galaxy Z Fold 8 series

Samsung launched a Carbon Standing Case alongside the Galaxy Z TriFold. The accessory features a carbon-fiber build with a built-in kickstand. The adjustable stand offers multiple viewing angles, so users can comfortably watch videos in landscape mode.

It looks like Samsung is gearing up to bring the accessory to its Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra. According to a report from GalaxyClub, the company has recently registered the “Carbon Standing Case” trademark in several countries, including England, Australia, and Canada.

Interestingly, the trademark filings have appeared in countries where Samsung did not launch the Galaxy Z TriFold. This suggests that the newly registered Carbon Standing Case may not be intended for the tri-fold device. Instead, the company may have designed it for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series.

If launched, the Carbon Standing Case should offer a similar design and functionality to the Galaxy Z TriFold version. It could fall into the premium accessory category, though it may cost less than the tri-fold’s Carbon Standing Case, which costs $100 in the US. 

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 could adopt a passport-style wide form factor with a 5.4-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch inner display. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could boast a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8.0-inch main display. To fit the different form factors compared to the tri-fold, Samsung will also have to make design tweaks to the Carbon Standing Case.
