Ovomind’s Emotion Analysis Technology Supports Galaxy Watches

Samsung’s smartwatch ecosystem gains support for emotion analysis capabilities. Ovomind, a Swiss startup, has announced that its real-time emotional AI now works on the Galaxy Watch 8 series. This will allow developers to build apps to show users’ emotional states using biometric data.

Ovomind’s platform uses AI to interpret biometric signals collected from wearable devices. The system analyzes data such as heart rate, body temperature, galvanic skin response, and other indicators. It then processes that data through a cloud-based infrastructure to generate emotional insights instantly.
Ovomind says its technology can detect emotions with more than 81% accuracy. The company also claims that the system can deliver information with a latency of less than 300 milliseconds. As a result, apps will be able to react almost instantly to changes in a user’s physiological state.
Swiss startup also designed the technology based on Russell’s model of emotion. The model measures emotions using two key dimensions: Arousal and Valence. The former refers to the level of emotional activation, while the latter determines whether an emotion is positive or negative.
As a result, the system can make a dynamic representation of a user’s emotional states. Ovomind spent more than ten years collecting and examining biometric data to train its algorithms. With the Galaxy Watch 8 series, the technology can now monitor emotions. This will give users insight into their psychological condition throughout the day.
Ovomind will present its innovation at VivaTech 2026 (June 17 to 20) in Paris. Visitors will be able to see demonstrations of how the technology uses data from connected devices to analyze emotions in real time.
Meanwhile, Samsung is gearing up to bring a bunch of new health features to its Samsung Health app. These include Vitals, Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, Fitness Index, and Hearing Health. They will take the health tracking experience on Galaxy Watch to the next level.
