One UI 9 Leaks: Settings Search Bar, AI Editing Suggestions and UI Changes

Samsungโs next major software release, One UI 9, is expected to debut alongside its next generation of foldables around July this year. While the release is still some time away, a few early leaks have already given us a glimpse of what to expect. With One UI 9, Samsung may tweak several system areas, improve animations, and move towards a cleaner and more refined interface.
One UI 9 may bring improvements across several areas
Starting with the photo editor, One UI 9 may introduce AI-powered editing suggestions. The editor could show smart suggestions based on the selected image. In the example seen, the input field appears expanded, with small suggestion pills above it. These could help users quickly apply edits without having to do anything manually.
Moving to the Settings app, Samsung may improve animations, especially in the search bar. It now appears to expand and collapse smoothly when you tap on it. While the change is not very dramatic, it still feels like a step forward compared to One UI 8.5. Similar behavior could also come to other areas like the App Drawer search, but that is not confirmed yet.
The About phone section may also get a redesign. Earlier, Samsung showed a large device image at the top, with details listed below. With One UI 9, the layout may shift to a more compact design. The phone image could move to the top left, with key details like device name, model number, and serial number placed beside it.
Additional information, like IMEI and phone number, would appear below. This makes the page cleaner and easier to read at a glance.
Overall, Samsung seems to focus on refining the experience rather than making big changes. The company may remove unnecessary descriptions, improve layouts, and enhance animations to make the interface feel smoother and more organised.
That said, this is still early information. We should get a clearer picture once the One UI 9 beta program goes live.
