Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy foldable lineup includes two book-style foldables, the Z Fold 8 (Wide) and  Fold 8 Ultra. Early CAD-based renders have already given us a look at both devices from different angles. Now dummy units have surfaced on the web, showing how they may look in real life.

Samsung’s upcoming book-style foldable designs emerge

Tipster Ice Universe recently shared images of dummy units of Z Fold 8 (Wide) and Fold 8 Ultra placed side by side. As you can see in the images, both devices adopt a familiar book-style design language. However, their shapes and proportions make them different.

The Fold 8 (Wide) appears noticeably wider and shorter than the Fold 8 Ultra in both the folded and unfolded states. This wide form factor should offer a more tablet-like experience when opened, improving usability for multitasking and productivity. On the other hand, the Fold 8 Ultra looks similar to previous Galaxy Z Fold models (taller and narrower).

We can also see differences in camera placement between the devices. The Fold 8 (Wide) could sport a dual-camera setup, while the Fold 8 Ultra may use a triple-camera setup. This suggests that Samsung may introduce the Ultra model as the premium offering in the lineup.

Recently, the same tipster also talked about the display crease quality of both devices. The next-gen book-style foldables appear to have a much less visible crease than previous Galaxy Z Fold models. In terms of weight, the Wide model could be around 201 g, while the Ultra may be about 210 g. This would make both devices slightly lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which weighs 215 g.

Samsung could debut its 2026 foldable lineup on July 22 at an event in London. When devices become available for purchase, you can order any of them through the Mystery Box program (Signup Now). We ship a bunch of free accessories, such as a case and a charger, in the US.
