It won’t be long before Samsung takes the wraps off the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Watch 8 series. The exact release date is still under wraps, but we have a good idea when they might debut. Multiple sources say the July Unpacked event will be held in New York. Ahead of the big day, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has already made a surprise appearance on the FCC listing.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 stops by FCC, confirms Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset

First reported by folks over at 91Mobiles, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 was spotted on the FCC certification listing carrying the model number SM-F966B. This model number has appeared several times before, which is how we know it refers to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The certification reveals key details about what’s to come.

The most important detail is the chipset inside the upcoming foldable. According to the listing, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite chipset. This doesn’t come as a surprise, as the chip has long been rumored to power the device. The certification also mentions additional model numbers—SM-F966U, SM-F966U1, and SM-F966W. These indicate the regions where the device will be available.

Moreover, the listing confirms support for 18 5G bands, NFC, wireless charging, wireless power sharing, and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) support. Nothing unexpected there. Samsung has also officially confirmed that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will ship with One UI 8 right out of the box.

That said, Samsung has been teasing the Galaxy Z Fold 7, hinting at a major upgrade this time around. The new foldable is expected to arrive with a sleeker profile. Despite which, it will pack in some “Ultra” features.
