Samsung is slowly building hype for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 launch. We expect the device will go official on July 9th at an Unpacked event in New York City. We’re almost a month away, but that hasn’t stopped Samsung from sharing early teasers.

Last week, the company highlighted the Ultra upgrades coming to the Z Fold 7. While the device will not share the Ultra name, it inherits multiple premium features from the S25 Ultra. These features include a new 200MP camera, a large cover screen, and perhaps a titanium frame. Today, Samsung shared a more detailed video teaser, highlighting the thin and light profile of their latest foldable.

Samsung drops another Galaxy Z Fold 7 teaser

The video shows the familiar silhouette revealed in photos last week, but this time we get a look at the folded and unfolded side profile. The device opens up from the side to reveal an incredibly thin frame. It’s clear that Samsung sees form factor as key when marketing a foldable.

Reports suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 would measure only 3.9mm thick when unfolded, besting even the Oppo Find N5. This would be a huge year-over-year change from the Z Fold 6 (5.6mm). Some of this slim profile could be due to the S Pen no longer needing a digitizer to work with the inner display, though it’s unconfirmed.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 official teaser 2

In the press release, Samsung recounts a brief history of the Galaxy Z lineup, starting in 2019 with the original Galaxy Fold. The evolution of the foldable requires not only a device that is powerful, but also thin, light, and durable. With the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung aims to bring its thinnest foldable that is also fortified for daily use. The company also mentions one-handed use, presumably referencing the larger cover screen that many users requested.

Whatever Samsung has up its sleeve, we’re sure to find out soon. We expect official event invites to go out in late June for media, with pre-reservations for the Z Fold 7 starting the same day.
