Shortly after leaked renders gave us our first look at the Galaxy Watch 9, we also have visuals of the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. The leak gives us our cleanest look yet on the new Ultra model. The two watches are expected to debut at Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event, rumored to take place next month.
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 design shown up close in new leak
The latest leak comes from legendary tipster Evan Blass, who shared high-quality images of the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. The renders provide a clear look at Samsung’s next premium smartwatch in both rumored colors: Titanium Gray and Titanium Silver.
The images suggest that the company isn’t making major changes to its design this year. The wearable retains the same overall design language as the original Watch Ultra. It features the familiar squircle-shaped body, circular display, speaker vents, and prominent side buttons. The only noticeable change is the hour markings on the bezel. The strap gets subtle design improvements too.
While some users may have hoped for a significant redesign, Samsung appears to be focusing on refining the Ultra formula rather than reinventing it. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 maintains the rugged look that the company introduced with the first-generation model. Samsung is prioritizing internal upgrades over dramatic visual changes.
Speaking of which, the Watch Ultra 2 is likely to run on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon Wear Elite processor. It should ship with 2GB of RAM and pack an 800mAh battery.
The renders also reveal what appears to be Samsung’s new default watch face. This watch face has surfaced in multiple leaks over the past few weeks, suggesting it could be one of the signature faces shipping with One UI Watch’s next major version. It appears to bring additional complication options, allowing for more information on the screen.
With renders of both the Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 now out in the open, it may only be a matter of time before more details about Samsung’s next-generation wearables emerge. If leaks are accurate, the official launch is less than a month away. The launch event may take place on July 22, with the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, and Fold 8 Ultra accompanying them. Stay tuned.
