Samsung has officially confirmed that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 will ship with One UI 8 out of the box. The new foldables will arrive later this summer — likely in the first half of July — running the Android 16-based update. Other eligible models will receive the new One UI version in subsequent months.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 will debut Samsung’s One UI 8 update

Moments ago, Samsung announced One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S25 series in the US, the UK, Germany, and South Korea. As part of this announcement, the company revealed plans to debut the stable One UI 8 build later this summer, shipping it out of the box in its next-gen foldables. Of course, it didn’t name the unreleased Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 for obvious reasons, but that’s what Samsung was referring to.

“Thanks to the mutual partnership between Samsung and Google, One UI 8 will debut on Samsung’s newest foldables this summer and will gradually expand to more Galaxy devices so users can now enjoy an enriched, more personalized mobile experience with the latest version of Android,” the official announcement reads.

Samsung thanks Google for the early One UI 8 release

Samsung’s One UI 7 update arrived several months later than the expected timeline. Meanwhile, One UI 8 is on track for an early launch, and the company thanks Google for it. “Samsung and Google actively shared their respective design systems and real-time feedback with one another, accelerating software development that made One UI 8 one of the first UI platforms to adopt Android 16,” Samsung said.

As said earlier, One UI 8 is now rolling out in beta for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. Samsung may expand the beta program to more models in the coming weeks. We will keep you posted as more information becomes available about One UI 8.
