Samsung plans to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Watch 8 series next month. At the same event, the company will also introduce the Android 16-based One UI 8 and the Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch. You might be wondering, where is One UI 7 Watch? Samsung is skipping it entirely to maintain a consistent update cycle across Galaxy phones, tablets, and watches.

Your Galaxy Watch might not see another update after One UI 8 Watch

While the upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic will launch with One UI 8 Watch, which other models are expected to receive the update? You may want to check out the expected list. One UI 8 Watch could also be the final major update for some Galaxy Watches, most likely the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic.

Our friends at 9to5Google point out that the Galaxy Watch 4 series marked the transition from Tizen OS to Wear OS. The result was a noticeably more refined experience, thanks to the collaboration between Google and Samsung.

However, there is a chance the Galaxy Watch 4 may no longer be eligible for further upgrades. If so, One UI 8 Watch could be its last significant update. There is also a slim possibility it might not receive the update at all, but we are hopeful that it will. Notably, this would be the fourth major update for the Watch 4 series.

One UI 8 Watch will officially roll out next month, starting with the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic. You can also check out our exclusive renders of the latter, along with several alleged live images. The broader rollout of One UI 8 Watch might begin shortly afterward, likely starting with models such as the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
