Samsung has released the stable One UI 6 Watch update, based on Wear OS 5, to the Galaxy Watch 4 series globally. Galaxy Watch 4 gets new features and enhancements with the One UI 6 update

One UI 6 Watch is the latest iteration of Samsung’s custom smartwatch platform based on Google’s Wear OS. It runs Wear OS 5 at its core, with new features and add-ons from Samsung. After shipping it out of the box on the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra, the company has been rolling out the update to older models. It’s now almost done with the rollout.

The Galaxy Watch 4 series recently started receiving the One UI 6 Watch update in India and neighboring markets. It comes with the firmware build version R870XXU1IXK1 for the base model and R890XXU1IXK1 for the Classic. The update weighs just under 1.8GB. It includes the October 2024 security patch alongside a bunch of new features.

One UI 6 Watch adds new features for health, fitness, and usability. The Energy Score evaluates daily fitness potential by assessing sleep quality, heart rate, and activity levels. AI-driven health tips complement this feature to improve overall wellness. Advanced sleep tracking offers detailed insights into sleep patterns, capturing movement, heart rate, and breathing.

Moreover, fitness fans can enjoy a new custom workout feature. It lets them create routines that combine multiple exercises. The Race feature lets users compare their running or cycling sessions with past performances. Additionally, three new watch faces enhance personalization, while improved visual elements for Tiles, buttons, and toggles improve the user interface.

Meanwhile, Usability is further improved with new gesture controls, such as Double Pinch, which simplify managing calls, alarms, music, and notifications. Scrolling through tiles and notifications is now smoother, and users can manage app notifications directly from the watch. Ongoing activities, such as calls and music playback, feature improved graphics for easier management.

To install the update, connect your Galaxy Watch 4 to your smartphone, open the Galaxy Wearable app, navigate to Watch Settings > Watch Software Update, and tap Download and install. You can also check for updates from the Settings app on your watch.
