Samsung is rolling out back-to-back updates for the Galaxy A56. Just days after receiving One UI 8.5, the mid-range phone is already getting another firmware release packed with the latest May 2026 security fixes and stability improvements. The new update is currently available in Europe, with a wider rollout expected soon.

Galaxy A56 gets the May update days after One UI 8.5

Earlier this week, Samsung rolled out the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy A56. The rollout began in Korea but quickly expanded to other parts of the world, including Europe. Now, days later, the device is getting another update. This one brings the May 2026 security patch — One UI 8.5 didn’t include a new security patch, so the device remained on the April release it picked up last month.

The May update for the Galaxy A56 carries firmware version A566BXXSACZE2 in Europe. The build number may vary in other regions, but expect a similar release globally. Having recently received One UI 8.5, the device isn’t getting any fancy changes here. Instead, the update is all about new security fixes for those who have already installed One UI 8.5.

This month’s security update for Galaxy devices includes 10 fixes specific to One UI and Galaxy software, alongside 29 Android-level security patches provided by Google and its partners. Samsung should gradually roll out these fixes for the Galaxy A56 in more markets over the next few days.

If you are using this premium mid-range phone, you can manually check for the latest firmware by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install on your phone. As usual, Samsung is rolling out the update in phases, so availability may vary depending on the region and carrier. Users who do not see the update immediately may simply need to wait a little longer for the rollout to expand.
