Samsung’s next budget smartphone leaks are not stoping anytime sooner. After reports emerged suggesting that Samsung is ditching Exynos processors with Galaxy A18, we now have some CAD-based renders. These renders give us an early look at its design ahead of launch.
Take a look at familiar design of Galaxy A18
Serial leaker OnLeaks, in conjunction with Smartphone Checker, has now shared the first CAD-based renders of the upcoming Galaxy A18. The renders suggest Samsung isn’t planning a major redesign this year. Instead, the company is sticking with the familiar look of its entry-level Galaxy A series.
According to the leak, the Galaxy A18 will feature a 6.7-inch flat display with a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera. It will also have slightly slimmer bezels than its predecessor. The device also keeps Key Island frame. In this frame, the power and volume buttons slightly protrude from the side.

On the back, Samsung appears to retain the vertically aligned triple-camera setup alongside an LED flash. The camera module also saw some refinements compared to the previous model, Galaxy A17. It has a familiar design language with Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57. Overall, the phone closely resembles recent Galaxy A1x devices. There are only subtle refinements to the camera module and front bezels.

Slightly thicker
The report also reveals the Galaxy A18’s dimensions, which says it measures 164.4 x 77.8 x 7.84mm (or 9.74mm if you include the rear camera bump). Compared to the current Galaxy A17, which measures 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.5mm, the new model is virtually identical in size. However, it is just 0.1mm narrower while becoming 0.34mm thicker.

It’s still unclear whether the slightly thicker chassis will allow Samsung to fit a larger battery, but that’s certainly something to watch for as more details emerge. The Galaxy A18 has also appeared in the GSMA database as well as Samsung’s European test servers running One UI 9. This further suggests that Samsung is preparing to launch the device later this year.
