Google is Selling Galaxy Watch 8, but Samsung has a Much Better Deal

Samsung and Google have worked closely together on Wear OS for years, but their partnership has taken an interesting turn. Google is now selling Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 8 through the Google Store, making it one of the few non-Pixel hardware products available directly from the search giant. While that’s convenient for some buyers, it may not be the best place to make your purchase. Samsung’s own store is currently offering significantly better deals on the Watch 8 lineup.

Google Store now sells the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8

First spotted by 9to5Google, some users in the US are seeing a new “Devices from the Google Store” section inside the Play Store that features the Galaxy Watch 8 alongside Google’s own Pixel Watch and Fitbit products. Tapping the listing takes users to the familiar Google Store checkout page, where they can configure the watch, choose their preferred size and color, and place the order.

Everything works through Google. You can buy the watch alongside other products on the Google Store, leveraging your saved card details, shipping addresses, and Google Store financing. It’s like you are buying a Google product. You can even apply your Google Store credits, if any.

The listing appears to be part of a limited-time promotion running through July 14, but the discount itself is fairly modest. You only get a $20 discount on the LTE-enabled Galaxy Watch 8, which starts at $399.99. If you’re planning to buy the wearable, you’re generally better off purchasing it directly from Samsung. The company is currently offering substantially larger discounts on the entire Watch 8 lineup.

Depending on the model, customers can save $60 or more. Samsung is also sweetening the deal with enhanced trade-in values, financing options, and bundle deals where you get 10% off select Galaxy Buds models. For buyers already invested in Samsung’s ecosystem, these offers make Samsung.com the more attractive option.
