Samsung is preparing to launch its next generation of foldables next month. The lineup consists of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8 (Wide), and Galaxy Z Flip 8. As the launch gets closer, the company continues clearing regulatory certifications across different markets. Recently, we spotted the Wide model on Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) database.

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 clears IMDA certification

The upcoming passport-style foldable, expected to launch as the Galaxy Z Fold 8, has now cleared IMDA certification. The listing mentions model number SM-F971B. While it does not reveal any major specifications, it confirms support for 5G, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and UWB connectivity. All of these were already expected for the foldable.

As for the specifications, Samsung could equip its wider foldable with a 7.6-inch main display and a 5.4-inch cover screen. Both panels are expected to use LTPO OLED technology. Under the hood, the device could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

At first glance, the rear camera setup looks similar to the Galaxy S25 Edge. The Korean giant could equip the device with a 50MP primary camera and a 50MP ultrawide sensor. Additionally, it may place the LED flash below the camera modules. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 could feature a 4,800mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging.

On the software side, Samsung’s next range of foldables should ship with Android 17-based One UI 9 out of the box and mark the stable debut of Samsung’s next major software. The update should later expand to older devices.

Samsung may unveil its next generation of foldables at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, with London reportedly serving as the host city.
