Samsung’s One UI 8.5 rollout appears to be officially over. The company has delivered the Android 16 QPR2-based update to every eligible device we can think of, with the Galaxy A24 being the last phone to get it. It may have skipped the update for the Galaxy S22 series, Z4 foldables, Tab S8 series, and a few others.
Samsung delivers One UI 8.5 to all eligible devices
Earlier today, Samsung rolled out One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy A24, beginning in South Korea. The release is noteworthy because the A24 was the last known device still waiting for the update. As things stand, Samsung has now delivered One UI 8.5 to every eligible Galaxy device. Unless, of course, the company has a surprise or two up its sleeve.
Interestingly, Samsung previously appeared to be developing One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S22 series and several other 2022 Galaxy devices. However, it abruptly halted the development around March and April. There are currently no signs that the company intends to release the update for those models.
There are also a few indirect signs pointing in the same direction. Samsung’s official Hong Kong One UI 8.5 rollout schedule does not include the Galaxy S22 series or the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. In addition, Samsung’s Camera Assistant app page on Galaxy Store previously listed the Galaxy Tab S8 lineup among the devices that would support the app with the One UI 8.5 software. However, Samsung later removed the Tab S8 series from that list.
Taken together, these signs strongly suggest that Samsung has no plans to release One UI 8.5 for 2022 flagships. While the company has not made a direct announcement, the evidence points to the same conclusion. As such, it is now safe to assume that Samsung has completed the One UI 8.5 rollout and that all eligible devices have already received the update. The remaining 2022 models will likely stay on One UI 8 as their final major feature update.

With One UI 8.5 now available on most eligible Galaxy devices and no new models likely joining the rollout, Samsung appears to have shifted its full attention to One UI 9 development. The company is already testing Android 17-based firmware on several Galaxy devices. It has even rolled out three beta updates for the Galaxy S26 series. As always, we will keep you updated with the latest developments.
