Vivo X Fold 6’s Battery Puts Samsung’s Foldables Under Pressure

Samsung is expected to take the wraps off two book-style foldables next month. Competition never sleeps, and Vivo has announced that its upcoming X Fold 6 has a 7,000mAh battery. Frankly, that not only beats but shames Samsung foldables.
Vivo X Fold 6 outclasses every competition, really
It also beats the usual variants of Honor Magic V6, which comes with 6,660mAh battery and a 6,850mAh battery in China. There’s rumors that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra (it succeeds the Galaxy Z Fold 7) will sport a 5,000mAh battery.
That in itself would be a huge upgrade over the predecessor Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 4,400mAh battery. But Vivo X Fold 6 is surely taking things to a whole new level, where we don’t see Samsung getting any day soon.
It will come with an 8.02-inch screen when fully opened, which is massive. It will feature peak brightness of 5,000nits. The foldable will also come in four color options: Blue Hole, Salt Lake, Polar Night, and Black Gold.
Moreover, the Vivo X Fold 6 will come with IPX8 and IPX9 water resistance, which sounds solid, but there’s still no clarity on dust protection. That might raise a few eyebrows, especially since the previous model had an IP59 rating.
Under the hood, it’s expected to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chip. Speaking of cameras, there’s a massive 200MP main camera, and a 50MP telephoto lens with a 200mm extender. We will know more details as the launch is scheduled for June 26 in China.
