While we are still waiting for the official One UI 8.5 stable rollout, Samsung decided to rollout some updates to its proprietary apps. One of them is my favorite one: Samsung Weather. While the Galaxy S26 series, Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 are the only phone at this moment with the final One UI 8.5, Samsung released a new update for the Weather app.

Cleaner and easier to understand

A new update to the Weather app brings several UI changes and visual improvements. While nothing in this update is groundbreaking, it does make the experience feel a bit more polished. According to Android Authority, the latest Samsung Weather update (v1.7.30.8) introduces new iconography and redesigned elements across the app.

The first area where you will notice the change is the Pollen card. Samsung has replaced the old generic leaf icon with more specific visuals for Tree, Grass, and Ragweed pollen. This makes it easier to understand conditions at a glance. That said, the icons still don’t fully show intensity levels, so there’s still room for improvement.

The update also brings a more compact moon phase card, redesigned graphics for wind and pressure cards, and updated visuals that feel cleaner overall. These aren’t major changes individually. However, together they make the app feel more modern.

Radar gets quick shortcuts

There’s also a small but useful addition to the radar view. Samsung added quick toggles that take you directly to specific views on The Weather Channel website. This makes it easier to dive deeper into weather data when needed. It’s not a native feature, but it’s still a handy shortcut.

Samsung’s Weather app has always been one of its better stock apps. Simple, clean, and reliable. This update doesn’t reinvent anything, but it shows that Samsung is still refining the experience in small ways that actually matter in daily use. And that’s what most people want from a weather app.
