Samsung Paused Galaxy S24’s One UI 6.1.1 Update

by | Sep 23, 2024 | Galaxy S, News, One UI

While Samsung expands the One UI 6.1.1 update to more devices, it is withdrawing the update for others. Shortly after the Galaxy S23 series, the company temporarily paused the update for the Galaxy S24 series. It is unclear if the issue with the latest flagships is related to the camera bug in the S23 Ultra or if it is a different problem altogether. The rollout should resume once the issue has been identified and resolved.

Galaxy S24’s One UI 6.1.1 update paused with no apparent issue

A few days ago, a camera bug affecting the Galaxy S23 Ultra came to light after users who installed the One UI 6.1.1 update reported a weird problem in certain zoom shots. In response, Samsung decided to temporarily suspend the update for the entire S23 series to address the issue. The rollout has yet to resume. In the meantime, it appears the company has paused the Galaxy S24’s One UI 6.1.1 update too.

Tipster @tarunvats33 reports that Samsung has removed the latest stable build for both Galaxy S23 and S24 from its servers. There’s no report of a bug or anything. We have already applied the update to all S24 devices in the SammyGuru office, and no noticeable issues were observed. However, Samsung has paused the update for the S24 Ultra without specifying the exact issue they encountered in the new version.

Hopefully, the company will resume the update soon. Well, it has been over two weeks since the Galaxy S24 series first received this feature update. Most users have already installed it. However, the September security patch is still not available for the new phones outside South Korea. Maybe it will resolve the current One UI 6.1.1 issue and bundle the latest security fixes with it. Stay tuned for more information about Samsung’s One UI 6.1.1 rollout.
