New Leak Hints at Samsung’s Advanced AR Glasses for 2027
After debuting its first XR headset last year, Samsung is gearing up to deepen its push into extended reality. The company has already confirmed plans to introduce a pair of smart glasses later this year. Leaks hint at multiple variants of these glasses, and that may still just be the beginning. Fresh evidence suggests Samsung is also working on a more advanced pair of AR/XR glasses, potentially slated for a 2027 launch.
Samsung could have a more advanced pair of smart glasses in the pipeline
Samsung’s upcoming smart glasses, often referred to as Galaxy Glasses, may be a basic pair with a camera, speakers, and microphones. They may lack a screen and function similarly to Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, prioritizing AI features over immersive visuals. The goal might be to offer practical, everyday use cases while focusing on accessibility and comfort, so users can wear them all day.
Codenamed “Jinju,” Samsung is allegedly developing these glasses with model numbers SM-O200P and SM-O200J. It isn’t immediately clear how the two variants will differ, but we may see multiple styles, something Apple is also rumored to be doing with its upcoming smart glasses.
Meanwhile, good friends at Android Authority have discovered a new pair in Samsung’s pipeline. A device bearing the codename “Haean” appeared in firmware files tied to One UI 9. It carries the model number SM-O500, which sets it apart from the first-generation lineup. A higher model number also hints at a more advanced product, though nothing can be said for certain.
There have been reports of Samsung potentially launching a pair of smart glasses with a built-in display at some point. In fact, we have seen the codename “Haean” tied to its AR glasses before. We now have a model number that supports this theory. SM-O500 could be Samsung’s first glasses with a screen, and it could debut sometime in 2027. More details should surface in the coming months.
