Babbar has taken on a new leadership role at Samsung India, where he will head Sales and Marketing for the MX Business. He previously served as Vice President for the same division. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing sales and marketing operations across the MX Business.
In a post on LinkedIn, Pullan noted, “As I hand over this responsibility to Dearest Aditya Babbar and the MX leadership team, I do so with immense pride and confidence.” He added, “The foundation is strong, the direction is clear, and the ambition for the next decade of growth is firmly in place.”
India continues to be one of the most fiercely competitive smartphone markets in the world, with Chinese brands pushing hard on both pricing and feature sets. Samsung remains a leading player, but its advantage has tightened in recent years.
According to Omdia, in Q1 2026, Samsung shipped 5.1 million Galaxy phones in India, giving it a 16% market share and second place. The current market leader by volume in the country is Vivo. Oppo, Xiaomi, and Apple hold the third, fourth, and fifth positions in the market.
