This week was packed with One UI 9 beta releases, a wider One UI 8.5 stable rollout and the May 2026 security patch reaching more Galaxy devices. Samsung released the One UI 9 beta 2 update this week, while India and Poland also joined the One UI 9 beta program. At the same time, One UI 8.5 expanded to several budget phones and tablets as Samsung picked up pace. The May 2026 security patch rollout continued as usual. Last updated on May 31.
One UI 9 beta 2 releases, One UI 8.5 reaches more devices and May 2026 patch rollout continues
Starting with One UI 9 beta, Samsung released the Android 17-based One UI 9 beta 2 update for Galaxy S26 series users in Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. In addition, Galaxy S26 users in India and Poland also joined the beta testing phase this week and received their first updates.

As for the One UI 8.5 stable rollout, Samsung made some solid progress this week. The company released the update for many Galaxy devices at once, with a major focus on budget phones and tablets. This week also marked the beginning of the rollout for the Galaxy M series. A few key devices that received the One UI 8.5 update include the Galaxy A16 5G, Galaxy A17, Galaxy A35, Galaxy A55, Galaxy M55 and the Galaxy Tab S10 series.
However, there was some disappointing news as well. Recent rumors suggest that the Galaxy S22 series and Galaxy Z4 foldables may not be eligible for One UI 8.5. As a result, those devices did not receive the update this week.

Looking ahead to next week, Samsung will likely expand the stable One UI 8.5 rollout to more Galaxy A, M and F series devices. The rollout for flagship phones and foldables appears mostly complete for now, so the company’s focus should remain on the remaining mid-range and budget lineup.
