Samsung has officially kicked off the July 2026 security update rollout for its Galaxy smartphones. The Galaxy S26 series is the first to receive the new patch. Other eligible models should pick it up in the coming days as the company gradually expands the rollout.
Galaxy S26 series grabs Samsung’s July 2026 update
Samsung had an unusual start to the month in terms of the latest security update. The company prioritized its Galaxy Watch lineup before updating any of its phones to the July 2026 patch. The Galaxy Watch 6, Watch 7, Watch 8, and Watch Ultra have already received this month’s security fixes in several parts of the world. Now, Samsung has finally started pushing the update to its smartphones.
As expected, the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra are leading the line. The update is currently available in Korea with a file size of over 500MB and a build version ending in AZG3. Users in other markets can expect to receive this update soon, though the file size and build version may vary depending on the model and region.
If you own a Galaxy S26 model, you can check for the update manually by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install. No new features or interface changes are included in this release, making it a routine maintenance update focused on device protection and system stability. According to Samsung’s July 2026 security bulletin, the latest patch addresses 57 security vulnerabilities across the Galaxy family.
As it rolls out the July update, Samsung is also testing One UI 9 for the Galaxy S26 series and several other devices. The big new feature release may arrive in a couple of months. The stable version will debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8, and Flip 8 later this month and gradually expand to existing devices. We will keep you posted.
