Samsung has shared the details of its July 2026 Security Maintenance Release (SMR). The latest security patch fixes 57 vulnerabilities across the core Android and One UI software. The company is expected to push this security update to all eligible Galaxy devices in the coming weeks.

Here’s what Samsung’s July 2026 security patch fixes

As usual, Samsung’s July 2026 security package includes the latest fixes from Google’s Android Security Bulletin. It addresses 41 Android OS vulnerabilities, including 5 Critical and 36 High. In addition, the update fixes 16 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVEs) discovered mainly in One UI, improving the security of Galaxy devices.

Samsung has shared details about some of these vulnerabilities to help users understand the improvements. Among the high-severity fixes are a bunch of memory corruption vulnerabilities, including out-of-bounds write issues in libraries such as libsavsac.so, libpadm.so, and libimagecodec.media.quram.so. The update also fixes an issue in KnoxGuardManager that allowed local attackers to bypass the application’s persistence configuration.

Furthermore, Samsung has addressed a bunch of access control issues. The update prevents local attackers from configuring Theft Protection settings. It also blocks privileged attackers from misusing privileged APIs in IAFDService. The company has improved security in SmartThingsKit and SamsungSEAgentService to stop access to sensitive information.

The July 2026 security patch fixes two path traversal vulnerabilities in Wallpaper Service and SemClipboardService. These flaws allowed local privileged attackers to access files with system server privileges. Other fixes include vulnerabilities in the fabricKeymaster trustlet and WLAN security.

As of now, Samsung has not pushed the July 2026 security update to its Galaxy smartphones. You can keep an eye on it via Settings > Software update > Download and install. If your Galaxy S26 is running the One UI 9 Beta, you can expect the security patch to arrive alongside the upcoming Beta 4 update. We will let you know when the Korean firm kicks off this month’s security update rollout.
