If leaks are accurate, Samsung is just days away from rolling out the first One UI 8.5 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series. Ahead of that, leaks have already revealed the scale of its visual overhaul. After early looks at the revamped Clock, Calculator, Internet, and other apps, we now have our first visuals of Samsung Calendar and Reminder, showcasing One UI 8.5’s new design language.

One UI 8.5 brings a unified design with floating elements and vibrant backgrounds

Samsung’s Calendar and Reminder apps adopt One UI 8.5’s signature look: pill-shaped bars and rounded search fields. Each app’s interface features colorful, gradient-style backgrounds, along with prominent floating buttons for primary actions. This marks Samsung’s clear transition away from flat design. Everything in One UI 8.5 appears layered and dynamic, giving the interface more depth and a modern, 3D-like aesthetic.

The redesigned Samsung Calendar adopts the new tab structure and floating navigation elements while refreshing its Month, Week, and Events views. Both Light and Dark Mode variants now use colorful accents and cleaner spacing. The pill-shaped search and add buttons at the bottom make navigation more fluid and visually consistent.

Samsung Reminder also features the same bottom-positioned pill-shaped tabs and search bar as other One UI 8.5 apps. In addition, Samsung has updated app icons with subtle shadows and depth effects, reinforcing the system-wide shift toward floating visuals.

These updates offer an early, tangible look at the aesthetic direction Samsung is taking with its next major software release. With One UI 8.5, the company is signaling the end of its flat UI era. The new design is more layered, colorful, and visually expressive, creating a cohesive feel across system apps and Galaxy devices. The One UI 8.5 Beta is expected to begin shortly, with a full stable release planned for early 2026 alongside the Galaxy S26 lineup.
