It’s been a busy Thursday at Samsung. Alongside rolling out the One UI 8.5 Beta 9 update for the Galaxy S25 lineup, the company opened the beta program for the Galaxy S23 series. Additionally, it released the second One UI 8.5 Beta update in select regions.

Samsung expands One UI 8.5 beta rollout with new releases for the Galaxy S23 and S24

After appearing on test servers last week, the One UI 8.5 Beta Program is now live for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra. Users in regions like India and Korea have started receiving the update. The package is over 4GB in size and includes the April 2026 security patch, with the build number ending in ZZD5. However, there is still no update regarding the Galaxy S23 FE.

The Galaxy S24 series, which received its first One UI 8.5 Beta update last month, is now picking up the second beta build. The Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra are getting the new update in India and Korea. The update size is around 900MB and also includes the April 2026 security patch. The PDA ends in ZZD5, similar to the S23 series.

The One UI 8.5 Beta 2 update for the Galaxy S24 lineup also brings support for AirDrop file sharing with Apple devices. You can now send and receive files directly using Quick Share. This feature is also available on the Galaxy S25 and S26 with One UI 8.5.

These beta updates should expand to more regions like the United States and the United Kingdom soon. If you own a Galaxy S23 or Galaxy S24 device and live in an eligible region, open the Samsung Members app and look for the beta banner. Register for the program, and you should receive the update shortly. Once available, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. After downloading, tap Install now to complete the process.
