Galaxy S25 series gets AirDrop support with its latest One UI 8.5 beta update
The latest One UI 8.5 beta build for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra carries firmware version ZZD5. The update is live in several markets, with the OTA package weighing around 865MB for the Ultra model. The file size may vary by market and model.
The most notable addition here is AirDrop support, allowing Galaxy S25 users to send and receive files from iPhones via Quick Share. Additionally, Samsung has introduced three new camera filters (Classic Film, Pop Film, and Blanc) to the Galaxy S25 lineup.
The changelog mentions no other new features, but there are plenty of bug fixes and stability improvements across the system. Samsung has patched issues with Bluetooth connections, notification cards, AOD clock, and more.
The company also addressed a bug that caused the screen to flicker and colors to appear distorted when changing zoom levels during dual recording. Stuttering issue when entering gallery albums and call screen bugs have been patched too. You can see the full changelog below.
As mentioned above, Samsung reportedly plans one more One UI 8.5 beta release (Beta 10) for the Galaxy S25 series. It could then follow with the stable build, which may arrive at the end of this month, at least in Korea. A global rollout may begin in early May. One UI 8.5 may also reach several other devices in May, with the rollout expected to be completed by the end of July.
