Google’s Now Brief-Inspired Personalized Dashboard May be Called “Daily Brief”

It’s no secret that Google is gearing up to introduce a personalized briefing dashboard within Gemini. A new report suggests the feature could be called “Daily Brief” instead of the initially expected name, “Your Day.” The feature could debut at the upcoming Google I/O 2026.
Daily Brief could offer a personalized summary of your day
Gemini’s upcoming personalized briefing feature could serve as a hub that displays key information from different Google services. The goal is to present users with a daily summary of relevant information without needing them to open separate apps. During its initial development phase, the feature was known as “Your Day,” but it now appears to be moving forward with a new name.
According to a report from Android Authority, Google has renamed the feature to “Daily Brief.” While the new name sounds more descriptive, it is not final and could still change before the official launch. The company appears to want to align the name with Samsung’s “Now Brief,” which offers personalized daily updates on a single screen.
Gemini’s personalized dashboard is said to pull data from Gmail, searches, and past conversations. This will allow the assistant to prepare a tailored summary depending on a user’s recent activity. The interface could feature multiple sections for better organization. For example, the “Top of mind” section may highlight the most important updates for the day. Likewise, the “Active goals” section could offer helpful suggestions.
However, it’s unclear when Google will bring the “Daily Brief” to Gemini. Rumors suggest that this could happen at Google I/O 2026, scheduled for May 19-20. We’ll let you know if new developments surface about the feature.
Meanwhile, Google recently removed the fullscreen interface for Gemini Live, making it part of the main Gemini app experience. This means the interface does not take up the entire screen during a live conversation with AI. The bottom features a pill-shaped container with a blue waveform.
