One UI 8.5 Goes Global for Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7

Alongside the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung has kicked off a global rollout of One UI 8.5 for its 2025 foldables. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE are now receiving the update in the US, Europe, India, and many other markets. The focus may soon shift to 2024 models now.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 get One UI 8.5 globally

Samsung began the stable rollout of One UI 8.5 in its home market, South Korea, last week. As expected, it prioritized 2025 flagships, including the Galaxy S25 lineup and foldables. Earlier today, the company released the update for the S25 phones in global markets. Last year’s foldables are also now getting One UI 8.5 worldwide.

Introduced with the Galaxy S26 series, One UI 8.5 is not a massive visual redesign. However, it introduces a noticeable layer of polish throughout the system. Samsung has refined animations, improved app responsiveness, and updated several stock apps with cleaner layouts and better customization options.

The company has also focused heavily on AI-powered experiences this year, with smarter writing tools, enhanced voice features, and more contextual suggestions integrated across the interface. We get camera upgrades too. Moreover, foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 benefit from improved multitasking behavior and app continuity.

Another useful addition in One UI 8.5 is the upgraded Quick Share experience. Samsung has improved compatibility with Apple devices, allowing Galaxy users to transfer files to iPhones. Overall, this update refines Samsung’s already feature-rich One UI experience on Galaxy devices.

With a global rollout now underway for 2025 models, Samsung should soon shift its focus to its 2024 flagships, which include the Galaxy S24 series, Fold 6, and Flip 6. Select mid-range devices should also soon receive One UI 8.5 as the company rushes to complete the rollout within the next few weeks.
