Samsung Kicks Off Global Rollout of One UI 8.5 for Galaxy S25 Series

A global rollout of One UI 8.5 may be well and truly underway now. After Korea and the US, Samsung has released the stable update for the Galaxy S25 series in Europe, Canada, China, India, and more regions. Other devices, like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, should follow soon.

Galaxy S25’s stable One UI 8.5 update goes global

Last week, Samsung released the stable version of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25 series and a few other devices in its home market of South Korea. The company announced a wider rollout starting on May 11, and the update is here. The Galaxy S25 lineup, including the S25 Edge, is getting One UI 8.5 in several global markets. Samsung’s 2025 foldables should be the next in line.

As usual, the update will be released in batches, so not everyone may get it today. But One UI 8.5 should soon reach Galaxy S25 users worldwide before expanding to a bunch of other models. Samsung is expected to complete the rollout by mid-July, if not before the end of June. Users can check for updates from Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Introduced with the Galaxy S26 series, One UI 8.5 brings several notable additions. Samsung has refined system animations, improved multitasking behavior, and updated several stock apps with cleaner layouts and enhanced customization options. There are also several new AI features and camera improvements, though some of those aren’t coming to older models.

Thankfully, Samsung isn’t restricting Quick Share upgrades to the Galaxy S26 lineup. Starting with One UI 8.5, Quick Share is compatible with Apple’s AirDrop, allowing seamless file transfers between Galaxy devices and iPhones.
