Galaxy XR Gets Big Update With Enterprise Controls And Spatial Features

Samsung’s now rolling out a substantial update for the Galaxy XR, and it brings together a bunch of new features. The update points to a shift in the company’s XR strategy as it moves beyond early adopters and into more business-focused deployments. Safe to say, it’s one of the most meaningful improvements so far.
Enterprise supports takes center stage with latest Galaxy XR update
The headline feature in the latest Galaxy XR update is the addition of Android Enterprise support, which lets organizations manage Galaxy XR devices alongside existing fleets of smartphones and tablets. IT admins can now enforce password policies, configure networks, apply restrictions, and even remotely wipe devices.
Security remains a major focus, with Samsung Knox providing hardware-backed protection for sensitive data. That makes the Galaxy XR a more viable option for industries like healthcare, manufacturing, and retail. Samsung’s also committing to up to five years of software and security updates.
Everyday usability gets meaningful upgrades
Outside of enterprise use, the update introduces several quality-of-life improvements for most of us i.e. consumers. One notable addition is the ability to save custom virtual keyboard positions. It reduces the need for constant adjustments during extended sessions. A new desktop session restore feature allows users to reopen up to three apps in their previous layout after restarting the headset.
Accessibility has also been improved with single eye tracking and enhanced pointer customization. These changes collectively make the Galaxy XR more practical for daily productivity and extended use.
More immersive interactions and spatial features
Samsung and Google are also pushing immersion further with features like auto spatialization. This experimental tool can add depth to standard 2D content across apps such as Chrome and YouTube. In other words, it can convert flat media into a more spatial experience. With native XR content still limited, this feature helps bridge the gap by enhancing existing content.
Additional updates include wall-based app pinning and improved hand interaction visuals, allowing users to see their real hands instead of abstract outlines. Combined with wall panel alignment tools, these features better integrate digital content into physical environments.
