After a bunch of flagships and mid-range models, Samsung’s One UI 8.5 update has hit its Xcover series rugged smartphones. The Galaxy XCover 7 Pro is the first model in the lineup to pick up the latest software version. Other eligible devices should join it in the coming weeks.
Galaxy XCover 7 Pro gets One UI 8.5 from Samsung
The update is now like in South Korea, where users are getting firmware version CZE7. It is a fairly large download, weighing in at more than 3GB, which is no surprise. One UI 8.5 brings a broad set of system improvements and feature additions. The update focuses on refining the user experience with smoother animations, improved responsiveness, better multitasking behavior, and enhanced system stability.
Samsung has also redesigned several interface elements for improved visibility and included the latest security improvements to strengthen device protection. While rugged devices like the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro are primarily aimed at enterprise and industrial users, this update brings the same modern software experience found on Samsung’s mainstream Galaxy phones.
One UI 8.5 has already reached all recent flagships, as well as several budget and mid-range models. The Galaxy XCover 7 Pro is the latest to join the party. Users in South Korea can manually check for the new firmware by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the package finishes downloading, tapping Install now will begin the installation process. The device will restart automatically after the update is applied.
Samsung will gradually expand the One UI 8.5 rollout for the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro to additional countries and regions over the coming days. Additionally, the update should reach many other devices soon, as the company is rushing to complete the rollout over the next few weeks. We will keep you posted.
