Last month, the US version of Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge surfaced on Geekbench with 12GB of RAM and an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Now, the global version has surfaced on the same platform, signaling a nearing launch. The slim new flagship is expected to debut in April or May.
Galaxy S25 Edge runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with 12GB of RAM
The Galaxy S25 Edge bears the model number SM-S937 — S25+ is SM-S936 and S25 Ultra is SM-S938. As usual, Samsung uses suffixes to differentiate regional variants, like U for the US model and B for the global model. The SM-S937U appeared on Geekbench in early January, running Android 15. It featured 12GB of RAM and the same Snapdragon 8 Elite processor as the rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup.
The SM-S937B (global version) has now surfaced on the popular benchmarking platform with the same specs. The chipset in question has its two prime cores clocked at 4.47GHz, while the other six CPU cores run at 3.53GHz. The device scored 2,806 in single-core CPU tests and 8,416 in multi-core CPU tests on Geekbench v6.4. The US version was tested on Geekbench v6.3 and yielded scores of 3,005 and 6,945.
These scores are slightly less than what the Galaxy S25 achieved. Samsung is likely throttling the chip to keep thermals in check. The Galaxy S25 Edge is substantially slimmer than the S25 (5.84mm vs 7.2mm) and is likely to feature a smaller vapor chamber. The device could easily overheat when the chip runs at full speed.
As mentioned above, Samsung may launch the Galaxy S25 Edge in April or May, but it might not be available worldwide. Rumors suggest this slim flagship will skip the US, even though a US variant appeared on Geekbench last month. More details should emerge in the coming weeks as Samsung prepares for the official launch.
