Breaking! One UI 8 Beta Launched for Galaxy S24 Series

Samsung has officially kicked off the One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy S24 series, just as it promised last week. The first beta update is now rolling out, giving early adopters a taste of the upcoming software before its stable release later this year. The beta program is open to Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra owners, but the S24 FE misses out.

Galaxy S24’s One UI 8 beta goes live

A few days ago, Samsung announced plans to release One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S24 trio in India, South Korea, the US, and the UK. The company has now kicked off the beta rollout, starting in the UK and Korea. The other two markets should join shortly. The first beta build carries firmware version ZYH3 and weighs over 3GB. Interested users can sign up via the Samsung Members app, where they’ll see a banner inviting them to join the program.

Once enrolled, participants can download the One UI 8 beta as a standard over-the-air update (by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install). This update brings a mix of design refinements, improved performance, and smarter AI features. Users should also notice smoother animations and tighter integration with Samsung’s ecosystem.

Additionally, One UI 8, which is based on Android 16, contains under-the-hood optimizations aimed at boosting battery efficiency. Samsung has already rolled out four beta builds for the Galaxy S25 series. It also launched new foldables with One UI 8 out of the box last month. This expansion of the beta program is the final step before the stable rollout, which begins next month.

Besides the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung plans to launch One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, S23 series, and more devices, including tablets and mid-range smartphones. One UI 8 already feels smooth and stable, so the beta testing may not stretch much longer for these models. We will let you know when we have more information about Samsung’s stable rollout plans.
