A reliable industry insider has now backed that timeline, claiming the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and Flip 8 will go on sale on August 7. The tipster also says Samsung will offer a free storage upgrade as a pre-order bonus.

Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and Flip 8 may hit store shelves on August 7

Samsung has generally followed a predictable release pattern for its flagship devices in recent years. The company typically unveils new Galaxy phones on a Wednesday and begins retail sales on the third Friday after the launch event, giving customers around two weeks to place pre-orders.

The Galaxy S26 series was a notable exception, as Samsung opted for a Wednesday release instead of waiting until Friday. That decision may have been influenced by the calendar, with the following Friday falling on 13th March. Many cultures consider this date unlucky due to the longstanding superstition surrounding “Friday the 13th.”

However, Samsung could be back to its usual schedule for the new foldables. The rumored July 22 Unpacked event falls on a Wednesday. As such, an August 7 Friday release is likely for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 series. Pre-orders may begin immediately after launch in most parts of the world.

The new leak also claims Samsung will offer a free storage upgrade during the pre-order period, at least in Korea. However, the source says this year’s benefit has been “nerfed,” suggesting it won’t be as generous as in previous years. Exactly what those changes entail remains unclear, but the leak hints that the full upgrade offer may not be available across all storage variants or markets.
