Samsung has already told us quite a bit about One UI 9 Watch. It has showcased several new health features that will debut on the Galaxy Watch 9 series and Watch Ultra 2 later this month. Yet, there’s one thing missing that many existing Galaxy Watch owners have been waiting for: the beta program.

One UI 9 Watch Beta should have been rolling out by now

Last year, Samsung officially introduced the new One UI 8 Watch features in mid-June. It followed up with a beta program for older models a few days later. The Galaxy Watch 7 picked up One UI 8 Watch Beta almost a month before the Watch 8 series arrived. That early beta allowed existing users to try the new software, provide feedback, and help Samsung iron out bugs before the stable release.

This year has been very different. We’re already into July, with only about three weeks left before Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Despite some reports pointing to a June beta launch, nothing has materialized.

Ironically, Samsung isn’t exactly keeping One UI 9 Watch a secret. Over the past few weeks, the company has confirmed several headline features coming with the update, including the new Blood Pressure Trend feature announced yesterday through a notice inside the Samsung Health app.

That same notice also revealed that Samsung will remove the Vascular Load feature for Galaxy Watch users in the US. According to the company, the change takes effect in late July 2026, when One UI 9 Watch begins rolling out alongside the new watches. That timing lines up perfectly with the Galaxy Watch 9 launch.

…but where’s the beta?

If One UI 9 Watch is indeed arriving later this month, the lack of a beta program is becoming increasingly unusual. Samsung has long used beta programs to gather real-world feedback before shipping major smartwatch updates. Skipping that process altogether would be a significant departure from recent years.

The more likely explanation is that the beta is simply running later than expected. There’s still enough time for Samsung to launch a short beta program before the stable release. But the company needs to make moves soon. Or maybe it plans to start beta testing for older models after the launch of the new watches. We shall find out in a few days or weeks.

Either way, the One UI 9 Watch beta will likely be limited initially to select markets, particularly the US and South Korea. Eligible devices are expected to include the Galaxy Watch 8 series and the Galaxy Watch Ultra. However, Samsung has yet to confirm exactly which models will participate, or if there will be a beta program at all.
