Samsung recently added the ability to share files with Apple devices using AirDrop through Quick Share. This feature debuted on the Galaxy S26 lineup and has made it to the S25 and S24 series too. However, there is a small issue. Location data is not being transferred when you send photos to iPhones. The good news is that Samsung has identified the problem and confirmed that a fix is on the way.

Quick Share may soon fix missing location and lens data when sharing files with iPhones

A Quick Share moderator on Samsung’s community website confirmed that the company is aware of the issue and is already working on a fix. According to the statement, location information does not transfer when files are shared with Apple devices. Samsung plans to include the fix in an upcoming software update.

The moderator also noted another issue related to lens information not being transmitted properly. This issue could arise because of a simple system bug. Samsung is currently investigating this as well and aims to resolve it soon.

It seems to be a metadata-related issue. Metadata refers to additional information attached to a file, such as camera settings, aperture, time, device details, and a few other things. It helps describe the file without affecting its actual content.

This is not a major issue and does not affect the quality of photos or videos. However, the information can be important for some users, especially camera enthusiasts, and Samsung is working to fix it.

Overall, Samsung continues to refine the Quick Share experience as it expands compatibility with Apple devices. Users can expect a fix soon, likely with the next software update, as mentioned by the representative. We will let you know whe it rolls out.
