One UI 8.5 brought a major upgrade to Quick Share, finally allowing cross-platform file sharing between Apple and Samsung products. However, the experience hasn’t been entirely seamless, with some users reporting annoying bugs, particularly when sharing files from Apple devices to Galaxy phones. The good news is that Samsung has already investigated the issues and confirmed that the next Quick Share update will fix them.
Samsung confirms a fix after users report multiple Quick Share issues
Over the past few weeks, Galaxy users have been reporting a variety of Quick Share-related problems. One user noticed that Quick Share on their Galaxy incorrectly counted the number of files received from an iPad. Another user reported that their Galaxy phone couldn’t receive files from an iPhone, though transfers in the opposite direction worked normally. Several others confirmed the same behavior.
On top of these compatibility issues with Apple products, some users have also reported Quick Share problems on Windows 11 PCs. Fortunately, Samsung has now acknowledged all the complaints. A community moderator recently confirmed that the company investigated the reported issues and identified the underlying causes.
More importantly, Samsung says the necessary fixes have already been completed and will be distributed through an upcoming Quick Share update. There’s no release date yet, but the update should arrive soon, possibly later this week. It’s worth noting that the next release may not contain fixes for all existing Quick Share issues. In that case, Samsung will push another update later.
Besides the main Quick Share app, the Samsung moderator also advised users to keep Quick Share-related components up to date. In particular, affected users should install Quick Share Extension version 1.0.915523159 or newer. You can update these components from the Galaxy Store. We will let you know when Quick Share gets its next update.
