Samsung Nears Full One UI 7.0 Compatibility for Good Lock, 70% Done

by | Dec 27, 2024 | News, One UI, Samsung Apps

Over the past few weeks, Samsung has updated several Good Lock modules with One UI 7.0 support. However, a bunch of them are still not compatible with the new version, which is currently in beta. The company says it is 70% through the development work, with full support expected in January.

Good Lock might be fully compatible with One UI 7.0 in January

With each major One UI update, Samsung adjusts internal features, often leaving some Good Lock modules temporarily incompatible. The same has happened with One UI 7.0. While a few modules have already been updated for compatibility, others remain unsupported.

Given Good Lock’s importance to Galaxy users, it’s no surprise they’ve been asking about One UI 7.0 support. The Good Lock team decided to address these concerns with an in-app notice. According to the company, 15 of the 22 current modules are compatible with One UI 7.0. The unsupported seven modules are: LockStar, Home Up, NavStar, QuickStar, NotiStar, MultiStar, and ClockFace.

This means over 70% of modules are available to One UI 7.0 users. Support for the rest is expected in January, though it’s unclear if we’ll have to wait until the stable release. Samsung plans to roll out the stable update following the Galaxy S25 launch on January 22. Beta users could receive the update in late January but a wider rollout may not begin until sometime in February.

Samsung’s notice adds that some modules that require significant changes according to the new structure may take longer to be available in One UI 7.0. However, it doesn’t specify anything. We are expecting a few new modules too, including one for advanced gaming features. The company also still plans to make Good Lock available via the Google Play Store. It is currently limited to the Galaxy Store.

The One UI 7.0 beta update, meanwhile, may not extend to other devices. Samsung has rolled out two beta builds to the Galaxy S24 series and may soon follow with Beta 3. It could release a couple more beta updates before introducing the stable version.
