Last month, Samsung finally announced its first XR headset, codenamed Project Moohan. However, the company didn’t reveal much about the device, nor did it share a precise release date or pricing structure. Industry insiders expected it to bring the headset to its Unpacked event, which takes place tomorrow. A new report suggests it will, though it might not be a full-scale launch just yet.

Samsung’s XR headset may make an appearance at Galaxy Unpacked

The Galaxy S25 Ultra will be the star of the show at Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event in San Jose, USA. The new Ultra will be accompanied by the Galaxy S25 and S25+. However, the Korean firm is expected to bring a handful of other products to the event. The Galaxy S25 Slim is one of the probable candidates. The slim flagship may get an official teaser at tomorrow’s Unpacked, followed by a full launch in the second quarter.

Samsung could do something similar with the new XR headset, and potentially a second-gen Galaxy Ring. The Unpacked could showcase teasers for the yet-unnamed headset. The company may also bring some prototypes for visitors to try out after the event. A full launch may not happen until the second half of the year.

Samsung’s XR headset is expected to sell a lot cheaper than Apple’s Vision Pro. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset, the headset runs Android XR, a new platform Samsung, Qualcomm, and Google co-developed for headsets. It offers Gemini integration with access to many AI tools, including Circle to Search. These firms plan to introduce more headsets and smart glasses with Android XR later.

If rumors are accurate, Samsung will also tease or unveil the Galaxy Ring 2 during tomorrow’s event. Not much to go before the company lifts the curtains off the first batch of its 2025 flagship product lineup. We will keep you posted.
